Our centre based in Wigan
Hallgate House is a community building based in the centre of Wigan opposite the bus station.
Key Features:
- The building is fully equipped with security cameras with secure alarmed electronic sliding doors.
- Downstairs room is equipped with folding tables and stacking chairs and can hold up to 40 people.
- There is a fully fitted kitchen with facilities for making tea / coffee.
- Ladies and gents toilets along with a disabled toilet.
- Upstairs is a large room with a stage and there are folding tables and stacking chairs which can hold up to 100 people.
- Ladies and gents toilets.
Wigan STARS meet on a Wednesday evening at Hallgate House in Wigan town centre between 7pm and 9pm the activity programme is planned by our members and supported by a team of dedicated team of volunteers. The programme consists of and includes in house activities of Arts & Crafts, Quiz Nights, Bingo including Rock and Roll Bingo, DVD nights, Discos, Computer Games, our community activity venues includes going to Ten Pin Bowling, Pub Meals, Cinema and Theatre Trips.
As from April 2021 Wigan STARS and The Hallgate House Project have merged, this means Wigan STARS is now the lead charity based at Hallgate house.
Wigan STARS is now responsible for the management and maintenance of our community building.
Our Transformation
Over the last 12 months Hallgate has undergone a transformation by a small group of dedicated volunteers and support from local companies along with funding obtained from Coalfield Regeneration Trust and National Lotteries Awards for all.
